Caribbean - the gems
It All Begins Here
The Caribbean has long been synonymous with turquoise water, white-sand beaches, and warm hospitality—but the true magic of the region lies in its diversity. No two islands are the same, and the most rewarding experiences often come from discovering the contrasts between them.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with some of the Caribbean’s most exciting destinations. In 2025, I was honoured to receive Saint Lucia’s prestigious Global Piton Award, recognising excellence in promoting the island’s extraordinary travel experiences. The year before, I helped bring another landmark project to life—supporting the soft launch of Six Senses La Sagesse in Grenada in April 2024, the first Six Senses property in the Caribbean. Seeing such an iconic brand open its doors in Grenada marked a significant moment for the region and further highlighted the Caribbean’s growing appeal for luxury, sustainability, and immersive travel.
One of the most common questions travellers ask is: Which island should I choose?
My answer is almost always the same—don’t choose just one.
Island hopping: the secret to experiencing the Caribbean properly
Each Caribbean island has its own personality. Saint Lucia offers dramatic volcanic peaks, rainforest adventures, and some of the most romantic landscapes in the region. Grenada, often called the “Spice Island,” blends lush hillsides, quiet beaches, and an authentic, laid-back charm that still feels wonderfully undiscovered.
By combining two or more islands in one itinerary, travellers can experience entirely different cultures, cuisines, and landscapes in a single trip. A few days in the lush, mountainous south of Saint Lucia paired with time on Grenada’s tranquil beaches, for example, creates a beautifully balanced holiday.
Explore different sides of the same island
Island hopping isn’t the only way to add variety. Many islands have dramatically different regions, and splitting your stay between them can transform the experience.
In Saint Lucia, for instance, the north offers vibrant dining, beaches, and nightlife, while the south around Soufrière is home to the iconic Pitons, natural hot springs, and rainforest scenery. Staying in both areas allows you to experience the island’s full personality rather than just one side of it.
The right boat trip makes all the difference
Boat trips are abundant across the Caribbean, but choosing the right one can completely elevate your stay.
A private or thoughtfully curated excursion—whether sailing along Saint Lucia’s coastline beneath the Pitons, exploring hidden coves in Grenada, or stopping at remote beaches only accessible by sea—can become the highlight of an entire trip. It’s not just about getting out on the water; it’s about finding experiences that reveal the islands from a different perspective.
The Caribbean, reimagined
For travellers willing to look beyond the obvious, the Caribbean offers an extraordinary range of experiences—lush mountains, vibrant culture, world-class resorts, and islands that still feel refreshingly authentic.
Whether it’s discovering the dramatic beauty of Saint Lucia, experiencing Grenada’s evolving luxury scene, or simply pairing different islands together for a richer journey, the Caribbean rewards curiosity. With a little insider planning, one trip can feel like several destinations in one.
